Celebrating First Anniversary in New Westminster, BC Canada

NEVER SAY NEVER

MARRIED!  For 20 years I said I “Would never do that again”.  Word from the wise….Never Say Never!  We are involved with a Non-profit by the name of Washington State Operation Lifesaver.  We teach people of all ages how to be safe around tracks and trains.  As a result of a tragedy 10 years ago Steve and I met.  I lost 2 very dear to my heart 15 year olds who were hit and killed by an Amtrak train in Woodland, WA.  They were 2 smart kids who made a poor choice of being in the wrong place.  Steve is the President, Chairman of the Board and Assistant Coordinator for WAOL, an affiliate of the national organization, Operation Lifesaver, OLI.org.

New Year’s Day 2017 I was contacted by a local mom upset with recent activity involving teens in my then town of Woodland, WA.  I told her I would contact my contact.  So via email I contacted Steve asking for help at Woodland High School.  Much to my surprise at 9:00 p.m January 1, 2017 my phone rings with non other that a Facebook call. That was the only way he had to phone me.  We talked for 3 hours. A few weeks and 3 hour phone calls later, I sat in my manufactured home in a lakeside senior living mobile park and said out loud to myself, “Okay God.  You want this man in my life, I accept that”.  My phone instantly rings.  It is Steve,  “Hi, I need to come to Woodland. Want to go out to lunch”?  Oh my gosh.  There was my sign.  We were married July 22, 2017.
