Getting ready for a road trip? We are leaving next week on a 5,000 mile road trip. We will be staying most nights at KOA Kabins. Below are a few helpful hints.
1. Plastic bins are the key. We are using our suitcases however, we will have a food & Utensil bin, Towels and toiletries bin, bedding bin, shoe bin, and a miscellaneous bin.
2. Most coolers have a hollow lid. The sides are insulated but the lid is hollow. To make the cooler more insulated, purchase inexpensive insulation in a can. Drill a couple holes and fill the lid with the insulation. The holes will self-seal. There you go. A more efficient cooler.
3. Pre load your vehicle and make sure everything fits. I even drew a diagram of where each bin is to be placed.
4. Lists are wonderful. I have a list for each bin and for the cooler. I also have a meal plan. We will be traveling on a major interstate highway so stopping and refilling our food and cooler will be no problem.
5. Happy Travels.
