5,000 Miles of Fun, Family & Beauty

Leaving Washington Beauty

We left our house at the crack of dawn, choosing to head north one exit to Hwy 12 and head over White Pass and up I-82 out of Yakima to Ellensburg, where we connected with I-90 to head east through Idaho and into Montana. We made this journey into Montana last year so it was not unfamiliar terrain. Still alot of it is breathtakingly beautiful. Day one destination was Missoula, Mt.

Next Stop Missoula KOA, The King of KOAs

First night was spent in Missoula KOA. I call it the King of KOAs. As you know, summer in Montana is quit warm. We unlock the door to our cabin and the air conditioner is on and the ceiling fan is running. Tremendous piece of service we found out as it was the only KOA who thought of such a touch. The others took some time to cool off. We stayed at a total of 4 KOAs.

After unloading we went to dinner at Cracker Barrel. After dinner we headed back to an ice cream social. 2 scoops for $2.50. While enjoying our ice cream a man from Vancouver Island joined us. He was headed to Sturgis.

After a wonderful night’s sleep it was up early, packed up, and hit a McDonald’s on the way to I-90.

Wyoming here we come.
